# Domainbase

Domainbase (https://domainbase.app) is an instant domain name search engine.
It checks live availability across 200+ TLD endings as you type, using
registry-fresh data — DNS-over-HTTPS for registered names and the registries'
own RDAP endpoints for everything else. No affiliate redirects, no cached
guesses.

## What you can do here

- Search: type any name on the home page and see live availability across
  200+ endings, ordered by relevance to your query (e.g. "sports" surfaces
  sports.tickets and sports.equipment first). Domain hacks like stu.dental
  for "student" are found automatically.
- Domain pages (/d/{domain}): availability, registrar, nameservers and
  expiry details for a specific domain.
- Watching: signed-in users can watch domains and get email alerts before
  they expire.
- Portfolios (/@{username}): users showcase domains they own and have
  verified via DNS; domains can be listed for sale and receive inquiries.

## Notes for agents

Availability shown is live registry data but some names marked available may
be reserved or premium-priced by the registry. Domain status can be checked
at /d/{domain} for any specific name.

## MCP server

Domainbase ships a hosted MCP server at https://domainbase.app/mcp
(Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1). Tools: search_domains, get_domain,
list_portfolio, list_watches, list_expiring, add_to_portfolio,
check_verification, update_portfolio_domain, remove_from_portfolio,
add_watch, remove_watch. Connect it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any
MCP client to search availability and manage a Domainbase account.
